About us
We’re a regular group of people who believe the same very important things. We are loved by the same God and saved by the same Savior. We’re not perfect, we don’t have it all together, and we need lots of help and encouragement to keep going. We also love each other a lot, and want to help other people know the same love that we receive from Jesus.
Within our body there are young and old, single and married, and families large and small. Many of our members have been attending Westbrooke for years if not decades, but we’ve got a growing group of newcomers and are enthusiastic about welcoming more.
Our Beliefs
Westbrooke elders have written eight position papers based upon God’s Word to acquaint you with our faith. We do not require everyone associated with Westbrooke to believe exactly as we do, but we pray that all will work within the guidelines of these position papers “to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace” within our local assembly. These position papers are available on request from the office. You can also learn a lot more about our beliefs online.
Our Body
We believe that people are more important than programs. We encourage relationships within the church; many have formed lasting bonds which are as deep as their own family ties. After all, we are one big family.
Our Worship
Our worship services are designed to involve the congregation in praise and adoration. We focus on Jesus Christ through our songs and prayers. Our teaching encompasses the remaining time as we focus on God’s message to us. We hope that this worship format will help stimulate each one to respond personally to God’s will for his or her life.
Membership
We encourage frequent attendees to get acquainted and serve the church through their spiritual gifts. Those who desire to become committed to our fellowship of believers may speak with one of the staff pastors.
How do I fit in?
Participating in a Small Group, Bible study or ministry is an excellent way to feel a part of Westbrooke. Such groups allow for friendly interaction creating an atmosphere of acceptance and spiritual intimacy.
Our History
Westbrooke began in 1961 as a small group of people committed to learn, teach and share the truth of Jesus Christ. Though Westbrooke was initially linked with the General Association of Regular Baptist Churches, since 1980, we have chosen to operate as a nondenominational church sharing the same historic Christian faith found in the Bible. We continue to be committed to our regular attendees and to reaching out to the greater KC area.
