Children
The Children’s Ministry Team was appointed and commissioned to provide direction and oversight for the various children’s ministries within Westbrooke Church. The team consists of five couples of varying experience and age, committed to building a Biblically-based, family-centered children’s program dedicated to equipping the next generation to know, serve and glorify Christ.
We believe that children are a gift from God (Psa. 27:3); that Scripture assigns to parents the privilege and responsibility of discipling their children (Deut. 6:4-9; Psa. 78:5-7; Eph. 6:4); and that it is the church’s responsibility to equip parents to build a solid spiritual foundation in their children’s lives (Eph 4:11-12). To accomplish these God-given tasks, we are committed to a children’s ministry in which:
- Parents are being equipped and encouraged to bring up their children in the “discipline and instruction of the Lord,” to actively participate in their spiritual growth, and to strengthen family bonds.
- Special assistance and resources are provided for all families regardless of make-up or spiritual maturity and for all children, including those with special needs.
- Children are being consistently taught and encouraged to know, to serve and to glorify the Lord, to become more Christ-like.
- Children are being taught and encouraged to actively participate in ministry to other children and adults, as well as in service and outreach projects.
- Activities are designed to assist our children in discovering, developing and displaying their God-given gifts and talents.
We look forward to implementing these vital objectives and covet your prayers and assistance!

Our curriculum is called Generations of Grace by John McCarther. Generations of Grace is a biblical and God-centered curriculum designed for children three years old through the sixth grade. Over a three-year period, this curriculum covers the Old Testament historical books, the life of Christ, and lessons from Acts and Revelation.
Every week, children in each age range learn from the same passage of Scripture in a way that is appropriate for their respective age levels. We call this a “unified curriculum.” A unified curriculum enables families to discuss one passage together each week, reinforcing the lesson that children have.
