Mission Adelante is starting their fall trimester beginning mid-September, they have a huge need for volunteers to engage with them in serving, sharing life, and sharing Jesus with people from other places in the context of weekly programs. There’s a full listing of the fall volunteer opportunities on their blog.
Volunteer Training: September 12
Mission Adelante is holding a Volunteer Training on Saturday, September 12 to familiarize and orient new volunteers to our whole ministry as well as the area in which they’ll serve. They ask that each volunteer attend this training once, preferably at the beginning of his or her first term serving. The training will be at the Mission Adelante facility located at 22 S. 18th Street in Kansas City, KS 66102. It will begin with a continental breakfast at 9:00 a.m. and wrap-up at 1:00 p.m. Lunch will be served from a local Mexican restaurant (a $5 contribution is suggested).
Observation Nights: October 13, 15, 20 & 22
Have you wondered what goes on at Mission Adelante on a typical evening of programming? Would you like to meet some of our staff and friends from our neighborhood? Here’s your chance! Come on up to 22 S. 18th Street in Kansas City, KS 66102 at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening October 13 or 20 to observe the Bhutanese Outreach, or on Thursday evening October 15 or 22 to observe the Latino Outreach. Do you already volunteer in one of these programs? Then take this opportunity to bring along a friend and introduce him or her to the mission field in our own backyard!
Thanks again to Westbrooke Church for partnering with us to love people from all places!
