Our Mission

Our purpose at Westbrooke Church is to glorify God by helping people KNOW who God is, and as result, to become reconciled and radically committed to Him. Once committed, we will assist every believer to GROW up, being renewed into Christlikeness, by means of radical community.

Finally, we will release each believer to GO into mission under the control of the Holy Spirit thus expressing radical concern for the lost.

In Furtherance Of Our Mission We Seek:

To teach the precious Word of God, recognizing its power to edify, instruct, comfort, exhort, correct and reprove.

All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. - 2 Timothy 3:16 & 17

For the word of God is living and active and sharper than ny two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit of both joints and marrow, and bale to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. - Hebrews 4:12

To promote true Worship through the teaching and reading of the Word of God, through spiritual song and music, through giving of thanks and praise and through prayer and testimony.

Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God. and whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father. - Colossians 3:16,17

I urge you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. and do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. - Romans 12:1,2

To provide training in practical aspects of Christian life and ministry.

And He gave some as Apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ. - Ephesians 4:11,12

To regularly commemorate the Lord’s death through the ordinance of Communion, and to regularly practice and encourage the ordinance of Believer Baptism.

… the Lord Jesus in the night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it, and said, ” This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” In the same way He took the cup also, fter supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” - 1 Corinthians 11:23-25

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. - Matthew 28:19

In furtherance of our mission we seek:

To serve one another and to esteem one another in love, speaking the truth in love, and building one another up through the Word.

I…entreat you to walk in manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing forbearance to one another in love, being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

…but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspectsc into Him, who is the head, even Christ. - Ephesians 4:1-3,15

Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind let each of you regard one another as more important than himself; do not merely look out for your own interests, but also for the interests of others. - Philippians 2:3,4

And beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. and let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; - Colossians 3:14,15

To encourage individual believers to seek the mind of God for opportunities to love and minister to those outside of Christ, especially desiring that they respond to the grace and mercy of God through repentance, thus receiving relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ.

Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity. Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned, as it were, with salt, so that you may know how you should respond to each person. - Colossians 4:5,6

Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ, and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and he has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Therefore, we re ambassadors for Christ, as though God were entreating through us, we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. - 2 Corinthians 5:18-20

To encourage and participate in local and world-wide missionary efforts.

And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” - Matthew 18.-19, 20

Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, and He said to them “Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and rise gain from the dead the third day; and that repentance for forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.” - Luke24:45-47

Therefore having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all everywhere should repent because He has fixed day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through Man whom He has appointed having furnished proof to all risen by raising Him from the dead.” - Acts 17.30,31
